Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation Meeting

Topic:   Panel of Educators who have Children with Down syndrome
in their General Education Classes

Panel of professionals will provide information regarding
implementation of curriculum modifications and fostering relationships.

  • Great opportunity to learn what’s going on in elementary schools
  • Opportunities to ask questions
  • Find out how successful children with Down syndrome can be in general education settings.
  • Please pass on and invite your district personnel. Important also for children who will be transitioning to kindergarten this fall.

Specialized topic trainings – in response to feedback we've received from professionals and families at past trainings. The topics are: Augmentative Communication Systems (communication systems that can enhance your child's ability to communicate with others), Self Care and Toilet Training (we hear from many families whose preschool providers are not successful with toilet training - please pass this information on so they can obtain valuable information),
Middle and High School Inclusion and Preschool Inclusion.

Note: Most meetings will be held the third Thursday of each month (except for the month of December). Individuals who would like to join DSAF will be asked to pay a nominal membership fee.
